This has been a hectic week with assignments to hand in and more assignments to do as well as homework!!! Whats happening !!

The Fourth Week

The main happening in this week for me was the UCAS forms that you will have to do when you embark on the Access to H.E course. When I first started going to college I asked nearly everybody in our class what they wanted to do after this year was over, and everybody said that they didn’t know. Well on Wednesday when we was supposed to be doing programming our teacher came in and explained all about UCAS. Not really being very up to scratch on all this the teacher explained that we had to start filling in our forms and deciding which college or university we was going to and what course we was all going to take. Dilemma is a good word for it.. What you have to do is look at what course you want to take and which uni or college is providing the training and apply for that 1, everybody has to pay when you submit your application and are allowed to have five different uni’s as back up and cost seventeen pounds. The range of courses is massive and when your go into the details of the course it’s not quite what your after and then have to do more searching… allow yourself a lot of time for this as I still haven’t made up my mind.

The Access course is coming on with more knowledge of Databases and relationships with different tables, can be a bit confusing but got there in the end.

Multimedia introduces everybody to the world of Photoshop and you get to grips with the many different uses for the program and offer you the free alternative as well GIMP which I have used a lot on LINUX Ubuntu.

Maths as well is going good as we all have diagnostic tests this week which i did quite well in the maths but the English was shocking. I was embarrassed when I saw the percentage mark at the end (50%). “went to town with the boy and bought a key stage three english book”. So hopefully next time it will be better.

English was good but cant seem to make it stick in my mind. All these dots and commas and wot nots ..

As for parts of a computer, we just concentrated on are assignment that we have to do .. I’ve done quite a bit and it has taken up a lot of time already. I think all these assignments is a way of making you do things in a methodical manner to avoid mistakes.. It’s slowly sinking in.
